I realized that I should have done this months ago, as I know that not everyone knows how to just copypasta a layout and Voila! it works, so I have made a Picture-based 12-Step Program on how to do it!

Directions Under Here! Beware of Large Images! )

Of course this is not for those who are trying to make their own layouts, or use a special stylesheet. It's just for people who have a CSS, Image URLs, and want to know how they are supposed to use them.

Hope this helps some people!

Another Layout! Of course, as with all of the ones I'm making at the moment, it is Hetalia-based, this time with gorgeous artwork by [info]hakuku (and you can buy her art and SHOULD because it's just that awesome).

I have returned to a more traditional style with this layout, as I didn't remove anything, but I did add a background (and made several versions), and tried to avoid using too colors that were too vibrant to match the muted tones of the background of the Header (and so that Prussia's cape and England's coat would stand out...>.>).

If you notice on the preview images, I also included another fancy font with this one, because it just FIT. How can you NOT use "ChopinScript" for a layout about the War of Austrian Succession? Especially the HETALIA-version? XD If you want to download the font, it can be found HERE at DA-Fonts. I also included French Script MT, Blackadder, and Cambria, beyond the simple Verdana font, and most people should be seeing Cambria as the primary header and sidebar font because Chopin and French are not default fonts usually included on every computer. French Script MT can be easily found on DA-Fonts as well, I believe.

Because of the three colors and 2 styles I have of the background I have 3 preview images, one of each color.

Comments and Critiques about my layouts is something I really appreciate, because it let sme know what I'm doing right or what I could improve on. If you do use one of my layouts, I would love to know which one and what you like about it, and I would appreciate it if you could please credit the artists' whose works I use in my layouts, even if you don't credit me. As I have credited them in the CSS Code of the layout, please DO NOT remove that from the code. I have been working to make my recent layouts Firefox and IE friendly, but if you come across something that isn't working properly, please tell me so that I can fix it.

Thanks for looking!

I'm back with more Hetalia Chibi! These layouts are based on the Chibi Allied Forces art that is basically the same as the Chibi Nordic art...only with flags! I'm hoping that my slight editing of the flags gave them more of a stamp/sticker look, but I'm not sure. I just didn't want them to look as if they were a direct part of the character artwork.

Anyway, I made two layouts, instead of four as I did with the last one, because unlike the Nordics, the full character art versions of the Chibi Allied Forces has not yet been released. I'm hoping they will one day, and then I'll go back and make background art layouts like the ones I made for the Nordics.

I also moved the Menu Bar and removed the subtitle. The journal title remains though, but it can be removed easily if the person wants. Just ask in your comment if you don't know how to and I'll tell you.

Warnings: Overuse of the Colors/Shades of Red, White, and Blue. >.> (It's not my fault all of them use red and four out of the five use the RWB color scheme....)

Yay! Another layout completed!

America, Home of the Brave. ♥

Gorgeous art done by Stan that I couldn't NOT make a layout with. I did add the text and a little border, but since I'm not sure people will even want those, I've made sure to include Headers that don't have them. I couldn't help it though, because this picture made me feel really patriotic, I heard the Star-Spangled Banner in my head and everything. And so I had to put the text on the picture!

I tried some different stuff with this layout, such as the added faded text on the Header, the removal of the title and subtitle, and the movement of the menu bar. I hadn't tried that before in Flexible Squares, but I like how it looks. I also have two codes, one for the layout WITH the orange content background, and one where it is just the black.

There is also a special font inclusion in the code called "Bleeding Cowboys." Take a closer look at the preview images and you can see how cool it looks. It is up over at DA Fonts for anyone who wants to download it. ^_^

I'm really on quite a roll, as making layouts is been quite the life-saver for me lately. I started like five different layouts around the same time and have been jumping around between them. So far, this one is complete one two more are almost done, so expect more soon!

I really appreciate comments and critiques about my layouts, as they really do help me to improve. I'm also currently debating making a third layout with a lighter background color. Thoughts? Or a matching default icon?

If you don't want to credit me, I can accept that, even if I kind of wish you would, but do NOT remove the credit of the artist from the code, and I would really appreciate it if you mentioned that they made the art on your Livejournal profile page. They spend so much time making such gorgeous art for us, it's really such a simple thing to do in return. If there is something wrong with the layout after you install, please tell me, so that I can fix it. This one shouldn't cause that many troubles as I used a very generic code for the most part. It should work with the sidebar on either side and it looks fine on Firefox and IE (I checked this time!)

I'm on a roll! This layout came to being because my favorite characters from Axis Powers Hetalia are England/UK and Prussia. They are the epitome of awesome together and when I found this art of them united in marriage to create an empire, all I could say was: "HELL YEAH!!!"

The Header art and Divider were made by the wonderful [info]starshards/ShinigamiTenshi. Please do not remove the credit line for her from the CSS Code.

There are 3 different headers and I also made 5 different backgrounds for this layout, but only took screencaps of the first two backgrounds with the Header #3. Within the codes for the header menu, title, and subtitle, there are several fonts listed, but I kept the generic Verdana in case people don't want to do that. I have provided links to the fonts if you don't already have them, and would like to use them.

Once again it has been quite some time since I last made a layout (although not as long as last time). So I've decided to make layouts from my newest obsession, Axis Powers Hetalia! This layout is based off of the five Nordic Nations: Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland (sorry Estonia, you're not a Nordic yet!).

I've tried mix it up with this layout, using both a header, a side background image, and a cute divider. To be honest, I hadn't originally planned this one at all, as I was working on layouts using Hetalia-fanart, but I don't regret making it. These Chibi!versions of the Nations are so cute. Maybe I make one of the Allied Forces picture that's like this as well. ^_^

There are four versions of this layout, the final one being the "dark" edition.

If you use one of my layouts, please do remember to credit me (and if even if you don't, please do not remove my name from the CSS Code) and any fanartists whose work I may use (which doesn't apply to this one, but it's to let people know all the same).

I finally made a Günter Layout! I've been dying to, but things kept coming up and my original attempt was too resolution selective.

The Banner image was taken from Portrait of a Demon King of course, but the quote was provided by the wonderful [info]anguisel. And doesn't it fit Günter perfectly?

Directions and Images under the Cut )

The layout is made to work best with ChopinScript font, which can be downloaded for free HERE. If you choose not to use it, the layout is sill set up to use various other fonts, such as Maiandra GD, and Trebuchet MS (both of which are fonts that are almost always included with Microsoft Works/Word). And if those fail, Arial, Times New Roman and Garamond are good safe guards.

The provider of the image has been credited in the CSS code.

I love any comments and critique on how to improve my layouts, and if you use one, credit would be appreciated. To do that, all you do is mention I made it in your profile. ^_^

Another layout that I should have shared a while ago, but I've been really busy. As you can see, I've been on a D.Gray-man kick lately.

This one is a Kanda Layout which took me a really long time to finish, because I made various headers and backgrounds, and even divider images and I couldn't decided which combination was the best. So I cut out the confusion and decided to share ALL of them!

There are two main differences between the layout styles, and that is the journal background-color, and the header. Because of this, there are two different CSS codes to be used. When looking at the previews, the darker ones (#1, #3, #5) go with the Blue Diamonds Header and the FIRST code, while the lighter ones (#2, #4, #6) go with the White Diamonds and Snow Header and the SECOND code.

This layout is also compatible for all resolution sizes except 800x600 (but the sizes can easily be modified to fit).

Okay, I've finally completed a new layout, and this time it's neither Kyou Kara Maou or Naruto-based. One of my other obsessions of the moment just so happens to be D.Gray-man, and for some reason LavixYuu is the pairing I can't get out of my head.

I have to admit that this layout was kicking my ass for a while, I had the gorgeous fanart by [info]nitrojen, but no header and couldn't decide what layout theme to work with. So I tinkered, chose to forego a header, and decided to use the Generator Theme, but I had no idea how to use CSS for it. So I spent HOURS googling different ways to use CSS for the Generator theme, and still couldn't find all of the answers I needed. But I am still pleased with my efforts.

Another turn of events occurred when the artist of the art I was using changed the editted the image I was using. I really like both versions of it though, so I made similar backgrounds using BOTH versions, so that users can change what they will. I also made like 15 versions of the layouts because I kept changing what I was doing. Very tiring, but I think my efforts paid off.

Of the various backgrounds I made, I actually found that the plain white, uneditted version of the second version of the image was the best. Of course, I'll be sharing all of the layout versions eventually, but I'm having to go through and make all the layouts 1024x768-resolution friendly, and make Flexible Squares versions because the navigator strip hates Generator.

Okay, the new ending to D.Gray-man has completely left me inspired, so I just HAD to make a layout. But because it seems that the LJ navigator strip (the grayish-thing-of-various-shades that is at the top of many people's screens when they're viewing LJ pages) seems to absolutely HATE the Generator layout style, I made it in both Generator (for those of you who could care less about the damn navi-strip) and then also Flexible Squares.

And because I'm being nice lately (and actually remembering to do this...) I have also made sure to modify each layout so that it's 1024x768-resolution compatible. And the background image comes with or without words.

EDIT: I found out how to fix the codes so that the navigation strip doesn't screw up the Flexible Squares layouts! Yay me!

This layout was one that really gave me some trouble, but I love it. It has Yosak. ♥

I decided to try something a little different and put the background image on the opposite side of the screen and I got rid of my usual Banner/Header and made an image to go beneath the Title and Subtitle of the layout. So you can still have your LJ title on your page. If anyone wants the second version of the with the Banner instead of the Title Header, just ask an I'll post the codes.

The Background image was taken from Portrait of a Demon King like the last two I made. (There are so many pretties images over there to chose from!)

And here is yet ANOTHER new layout. My goal is to finish one more layout, and then I will feel accomplished enoguh to actually get schoolwork done instead of constantly obsessing over this (hopefully).

Once again this is a scanned image from the Portrait of a Demon King archive. I really loved this Yuuram image and so I had to make a layout of it. The blues called to me. ^_^ And I also made two different banners, one with text and one without, and I also have 3 different sized background images because I know that people have different resolutions on their computer screens. At the same time, the background's size can be easily modified.

Another Layout! This one was actually a surprise, because I had been planning out a completely different layout, but then the idea for this one snuck up on my and wouldn't be denied.

The editting on the images is called the "Old Photo," but with fuzzy borders, hence the title of this layout. ^_^ It's a very muted style, in my opinion, and I'm not completely satisfied with it, but it's somewhat different from anything I've done before. And it has helped me to become even more familiar with the multitude of codes in CSS.

A new layout so soon? Yes, because they're the perfect way to relieve stress when you have lots of coursework piling up on your desk.

This one is much more "elegant" in a way that any of the others I have made, and it took a lot of damn time to make it. (I'm getting much pickier when it comes to color coordination.) I discovered how to move the page black around layout instead of leaving it just in the center, and decided to have some fun with fancy borders/headers.

The background image was provided by [info]lenainverse and brightened up a bit so that it stands out against the solide black background. I think I'm starting to get really good at using CSS. And I even made two versions of an icon to go with it, although I was thinking about making more.

Of course though, I still used the template by [info]carriep63, but maybe with the next layout I make, I'll be able to to actually do it on my own.

Directions and Images under the Cut )

I think this layout is definitely one of the best I've done so far, and the "fanciest." I think my skills are improving!

Comments are love and credit is appreciated if you do use the layout. ♥

Okay, so I've finally given the journal a makeover, which was much needed since I'd had that unfinished layout on here for months. But thanks for Naruto Shippuuden episode 53, I was inspired (to the point where I've ignored my big essay due tomorrow/today/9:30...^^;;) so that I could make this layout.

I absolutely love this layout and I'm quite proud of the job I did on it (procrastination = inspiration XD).

The basic CSS template is of course from the wonderful [info]carriep63, but I did a lot of tinkering with it this time. Like I finally figured out how to fix those damn little strips above each header on the page that was never the right color. *victory sign* So now the ENTIRE layout will be in the CSS cut-and-paste box.

There are even three modified icons included to go along with the layout, and I'm thinking of making a "Friends Only" Banner too. ^_^

Directions and Images under the Cut )

I think this layout is the best I've done so far, and the most elaborate. And through trial and error, I've managed to find out a lot of different things about CSS today, so I'm getting better!

If you've been to the journal for the past few days, you will see this lovely new layout that I put together with the help of [info]carriep63's "Smooth Sailing" CSS template and [info]anguisel's color coordination (as I just couldn't get the background color right on my own...). So great thanks to both of them.

There is a specific font that I used for this layout called "ChickenScratch," which looks very nice in my opinion, but most people don't have/know about it, so here is a link should you want to download it for free, but if not, there are several other fonts input after it. And you can always change them how you please.

Okay, so I've been slowly teaching myself how to use CSS based on tutorial and such around the net, but I'm still a noob. I actually found a great "Smooth Sailing" template made by [info]carriep63 on [info]everything_lj that if you just mess around with it a little with different colors and padding, and such you can basically customize your journal however you want.

So I took my Gundam 00 - The Blues Layout, and fit it to the Smooth Sailing format, as anyone whose seen the journal in the past couple days would notice.

So unlike all of my others where there is a long table of codes, there are actually only 4 codes that you would have to input and then a cut and paste into the custom CCS box, and viola! Much easier, neh?

BIG THANKS to [info]carriep63 for allowing me to use her template and share it.

I actually like both the "3 Column" style and the "Smooth Sailing". Comments are love, and credit for the template is in the template so don't remove it. Anyone who uses "view source" should be able to see it.

Oh wow, it's been over a month since I made a layout. Of course, I've made lots of icons, but still, making layouts is fun. ^_^

This time, I present a Gundam 00 layout with all of the smexy Meisters (especially the stupidsexy Lockon) which includes a background image to go with it. The Banner is quite large though, due to the original dimensions of the image. I just couldn't get it to shrink the way I wanted it so I found something that it still fairly reasonable. ^_^
